FAQs
- Could there be any access issues for skip vehicles?
Skip vehicles, as a guide, are normally around 8.5 – 9.5 feet wide. By keeping this in mind you can avoid a building entrance that is not quite large enough. At the same time, they can weigh at least 7.5 tonnes, so your ground will need to be able to withstand that weight.
+ - What can I put in the skip?
You are allowed to place non-hazardous waste (household items, green waste, debris ect…) in your skip. However, you will need containers or a special permit if you are considering removal of hazardous waste.
+ - Where can my skip be placed?
Your skip can be placed on private property providing that the driver is able to safely deliver the skip and pick it up. Once it is delivered however, you are not permitted to move it. Alternatively, you are also allowed to place your skip on public land (road, pathway), but you will need to obtain a permit from your local authority.
